Bottling info:

Crafted by Precious Liquors and bottled in 2023, this remarkable Jamaican blend brings together four of the island's most respected distilleries: Long Pond, Clarendon, New Yarmouth and Worthy Park. Combining distillates from different vintages and production styles, the result is a rum that captures the extraordinary diversity and complexity of Jamaican rum-making.

The blend incorporates Long Pond 2005, Clarendon/Monymusk 2007, New Yarmouth 2005 and Worthy Park 2008, with the majority of components distilled in traditional pot stills, complemented by Clarendon's distinctive column and pot still blend. Matured in Scotland and bottled at a robust 57.1% ABV from Cask No. 9, this release yielded just 265 bottles.

Rather than showcasing a single distillery profile, this expression celebrates the art of blending. The vibrant fruitiness of New Yarmouth, the unmistakable tropical character of Worthy Park, the drier complexity of Clarendon and the subtle structural contribution of Long Pond combine to create a rum that is both approachable and endlessly fascinating.

Presented at natural colour and without chill filtration, this limited edition demonstrates that exceptional Jamaican rum can emerge not only from individual marques but also from the thoughtful composition of multiple iconic distilleries.

Tasting note:

Nose: Intensely aromatic and unmistakably Jamaican. An abundance of ripe tropical fruits rises immediately from the glass, led by the heavy fruity sweetness characteristic of New Yarmouth. Notes of pineapple syrup, overripe banana and exotic fruit salad dominate the profile, while Worthy Park contributes its recognisable banana character. Beneath the fruit lies a layer of vanilla, gentle oak spice and hints of honeyed sweetness, adding complexity and depth.

Palate: Rich, expressive and constantly evolving. The influence of the cask becomes more pronounced, introducing notes of toasted oak, baking spices and subtle tannins. New Yarmouth once again takes centre stage with its vibrant fruit intensity, while Worthy Park briefly reveals itself through sweet tropical nuances. Clarendon's distinctive dry character then emerges, bringing balance and structure before the fruit-forward New Yarmouth profile returns to close the experience. The texture is full-bodied and beautifully integrated, with the alcohol delivering power without sacrificing elegance.

Finish: Medium to long, dominated by lingering tropical fruit notes and a signature New Yarmouth exuberance. Hints of dried banana chips, citrus peel and soft oak spices remain on the palate, accompanied by a gentle dryness inherited from the Clarendon component. The finish retains excellent balance, gradually fading while preserving the blend's unmistakably Jamaican identity.

Overall: A captivating exploration of Jamaican rum through the lens of blending. While the exuberant New Yarmouth component undoubtedly steals the spotlight, the supporting contributions from Worthy Park, Clarendon and Long Pond provide complexity, structure and intrigue. Bold yet harmonious, this bottling demonstrates that the art of blending can produce results every bit as compelling as single distillery releases. A perfect Jamaican blend, celebrating the individuality of each component while creating something greater than the sum of its parts.
