Distilled at the renowned Fettercairn Distillery in 2008 and bottled by the independent bottler Claxton's as part of its sought-after Warehouse No. 1 series, this single malt Scotch whisky showcases the character of the Highland distillery through the lens of careful cask selection.

Matured for 13 years in a first fill bourbon barrel, Cask No. C22036 yielded just 229 bottles, making this a highly limited release. Bottled in 2022 at a natural cask strength of 54.1% ABV, the whisky offers an authentic and unadulterated drinking experience, preserving the spirit's full depth of flavour and complexity.

Tasting note:

Nose: Bright and expressive, the nose opens with classic first fill bourbon cask aromas of vanilla pod, honeycomb and freshly baked sponge cake. Layers of ripe orchard fruits emerge, led by golden apples, poached pears and juicy peaches, while subtle hints of coconut flakes, toasted almonds and soft oak spice add depth and complexity.

Palate: Rich and vibrant, the palate delivers waves of creamy vanilla custard, butterscotch and malted biscuits, perfectly balanced by fresh fruit notes of pineapple, apricot and citrus peel. The cask strength brings structure and intensity without overwhelming the spirit, while gentle touches of cinnamon, white pepper and toasted oak create an elegant framework around the distillate's naturally fruity character.

Finish: Long, warming and refined, the finish lingers with notes of vanilla fudge, honey-glazed pastries and delicate oak spices. Hints of candied lemon peel and tropical fruit slowly fade into soft malt sweetness, leaving a clean yet satisfying impression that encourages another sip.
