Last year we shared and you enjoyed Queen Nanny so much and we’re very supportive of Precious Drops that we are bringing to you an Exclusive Early Access just for Precious Drops subscribers.
We’re excited to present the second release from the Jamaica Heroes Edition bottling series! Following the fantastic success of our first release featuring the important Queen Nanny, Precious Liquors has now bottled a delightful 14-year-old Jamaican rum. This exceptional spirit has spent eight years maturing in Jamaica before spending the remaining years in the United Kingdom for further aging.
This very limited edition of 150 has been bottled exclusively for www.preciousdrops.co.uk.
Tasting note:
Nose: Imagine the aroma of overripe pineapple mingling with bright acrylic notes. It’s a bit waxy and zesty, with a delightful chocolate twist. There’s a hint of perfume along with a strange mix of nail polish, ripe papaya, and sultana raisin jam! Black tea and tobacco also contribute to this harmonious blend. And wait… Guyana, could it be? A tiny melody in the background… no, it’s just Jamaica, baby!
Palate: Rich and concentrated, this rum showcases a bold and vibrant fruit character! It feels like being transported to a chemistry lab, but then back to a bustling local market. Did someone just paint something nearby? The painted wood notes mingle with strong black tea, eventually giving way to a delightful sweetness.
The finish: This is a finish you won't forget anytime soon! It evolves over time, becoming more serious with a pleasantly chemical, tobacco leaf-like aftertaste. A slight sweetness and soft tannins linger on your palate, making it easy to lose track of what you were planning to do next. Enjoy!
