Bespoke Whisky, Rum & Private Label Bottling by Precious Liquors
For many whisky and rum enthusiasts, creating their own bottling sounds like something reserved for major retailers, established brands or companies prepared to order thousands of bottles.
It doesn't have to be.
At Precious Liquors, we believe that some of the most interesting bottlings in the world are not necessarily the largest.
Sometimes they are only 20, 30 or 50 bottles.
A private whisky club celebrating an anniversary. A restaurant looking for its own house whisky. A rum bar wanting something unavailable anywhere else. A company searching for a remarkable gift for its most important clients. A group of friends who have always dreamed of having their own single cask bottling.
Or an established spirits retailer looking for an exclusive release carrying its own name.
We can create them all.

What Is a Bespoke Whisky or Rum Bottling?
A bespoke bottling is a spirit created specifically for a particular client, occasion, market or idea.
Rather than selecting an existing bottle from a catalogue, the project begins with the liquid.
Depending on the project, we can work with Scotch whisky, aged rum, Cognac, Armagnac and other mature spirits, drawing on the experience Precious Liquors has developed through years of sourcing, trading and independently bottling exceptional casks.
The final release can then be tailored around the client.
That can include the selection of the spirit, strength, bottle format, label, packaging and overall identity.
The result isn't simply a bottle with somebody else's logo added to it.
It is your own spirit edition.
And Yes – We Can Start from Just 20–50 Bottles
This is perhaps the biggest misconception surrounding private label whisky and bespoke rum bottling.
People often assume that creating their own spirits release means ordering an entire cask or committing to hundreds — sometimes thousands — of bottles.
At Precious Liquors, we can work differently.
For selected projects, bespoke editions can start from approximately 20–50 bottles.
That opens an entirely different world of possibilities.
A 30-bottle single malt for a whisky club suddenly becomes realistic.
A 50-bottle aged rum release exclusively for one specialist bar becomes possible.
A restaurant can have a tiny batch carrying its own identity without becoming a drinks company.
A business can create 25 genuinely memorable gifts rather than ordering another conventional corporate present.
And collectors can create something that simply would not otherwise exist.

Who Can Create Their Own Whisky or Rum With Us?
Almost anyone with the right project.
Over the years, our work has brought us together with specialist spirits retailers, importers and distributors, whisky and rum clubs, online communities, hospitality businesses and private collectors.
Today we can develop bespoke bottlings for:
Whisky and rum clubs • specialist retailers • bars • restaurants • hotels • importers and distributors • private societies • corporate clients • collectors • groups of friends • events and anniversaries.
The scale can range from a very small private edition to a complete commercial release intended for international distribution.
The philosophy remains the same:
start with great liquid.
From 20 Bottles to International Releases
Our own history demonstrates just how different independent and bespoke bottling projects can become.
One example is our collaboration with RumX, one of the world's largest rum communities.
For the project, a remarkable Long Pond VRW 2005 Jamaican rum was selected and bottled at 19 years old and 64.6% ABV.
Only 99 bottles were released.
It was a tiny edition, but size had nothing to do with its impact.
The release currently carries a community score of 8.9/10 on RumX from 77 ratings, demonstrating what can happen when the right community meets the right cask.

Another Long Pond VRW 2005 was created as an exclusive selection for The Bottle Shop. That release consisted of only 160 bottles and currently carries an 8.8/10 RumX community rating.
These weren't mass-market products.
They were bottlings created for particular audiences.
And that is precisely the point.
A Bespoke Bottling Doesn't Have to Look Like Anything Else
One of the advantages of working independently is freedom.
Our DNC – Do Not Collect project demonstrates this particularly well.
Instead of automatically following the conventional 700 ml format, DNC explores exceptional spirits in 200 ml bottles.
One release featured an extraordinary Uitvlugt 1998 Guyana rum, distilled using the historic Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still, matured for 26 years and given an additional eight-month finish in an ex-Caroni Hokkaido Mizunara cask.
Only 250 bottles were produced.
Why 200 ml?
Because sometimes the liquid should determine the format rather than convention.

That same thinking can be applied to bespoke projects.
The question isn't:
"What normally gets bottled?"
The better question is:
"What are we trying to create?"
Bottling for Brands, Clubs and Communities
Bespoke bottling can also become part of an existing brand.
For House of Cane, Precious Liquors bottled a Hampden 2013 Jamaican Pure Single Rum carrying the legendary <>H marque.
The spirit spent six years maturing in Jamaica followed by four years in the UK before being bottled at 58.8% ABV, with only 233 bottles produced.

Projects like this demonstrate another side of bespoke bottling.
The client does not necessarily need to create a new spirits company.
An existing retailer, hotel, club or brand can simply create one exceptional edition.
Sometimes the Story Comes First
Liquid is fundamental.
But we have also learned something else during our journey as an independent bottler:
people remember stories.
Our Corporal Wojtek whisky series is perhaps the clearest example.
The collection was inspired by the extraordinary true story of Wojtek, the Syrian brown bear who accompanied Polish soldiers during the Second World War and became associated with the Battle of Monte Cassino.
The first release paired that story with a 13-year-old Benrinnes single cask, finished in Oloroso sherry and bourbon and bottled at 55.5% ABV.
The collection has since expanded, with the third chapter becoming a 21 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky.

It illustrates an important part of what we do.
A successful independent bottling can combine liquid, design, history and identity into something people immediately recognise.
Your bespoke bottling can do the same.
From Barbados to Jamaica, Guyana and Beyond
Our work has taken us across some of the most celebrated rum-producing regions in the world.
The Broken Trident Foursquare 2006 combined eight years of maturation in Barbados with another eight years in the UK before being bottled at 63.3% ABV. Only 229 bottles were produced. Whiskyfun reviewed the release positively, while the project itself commemorated Barbados and its independence.
Our Long Pond releases have explored several expressions of one of Jamaica's great distilleries, from Queen Nanny VRW 2007, through mature 2001 and 2005 vintages, to our latest Long Pond VRW 2002 project matured in ex-Cognac casks.
Across the wider Precious Liquors portfolio, independent releases have included spirits from Long Pond, New Yarmouth, Clarendon, Hampden, Diamond, Enmore, Uitvlugt, Foursquare and Trinidad Distillers Limited, among others.

The objective has never been simply to accumulate famous distillery names.
It is to find interesting liquid capable of becoming an interesting bottle.
How Does Creating Your Own Bottling Work?
Every project is different, but it normally starts with a very simple conversation.
Tell us what you want to achieve.
Perhaps you already know you want an old Jamaican rum.
Perhaps you're looking for a sherried Scotch whisky.
Perhaps you have a budget and number of bottles but no idea what spirit would work best.
Or perhaps all you have is a story.
That's enough to start.
From there, we can work through the spirit selection, samples and tasting, desired number of bottles, ABV, bottle size, label concept, branding, packaging, bottling and logistics.
For commercial projects, we can also discuss the realities of distribution and the market in which the bottles are intended to be sold.
Our job is to turn the initial idea into something physical.

Private Label Whisky Doesn't Have to Mean Generic Whisky
There is an important distinction here.
Search online for private label whisky or private label rum and much of what appears is based around scale.
Choose a liquid. Add a logo. Order a large quantity.
That isn't what interests us.
We come from the world of independent bottling and rare spirits, where the identity of an individual cask, vintage, distillery and maturation matters.
Our approach to bespoke bottling comes from the same place.
Where possible, we want the spirit itself to give the project a reason to exist.
Because twenty exceptional bottles are more interesting to us than two thousand forgettable ones.
Your Restaurant's Own Rum. Your Club's Own Whisky. Your Own Edition.
Imagine a restaurant celebrating its tenth anniversary with 30 individually numbered bottles of mature Scotch whisky.
A hotel creating its own 50-bottle rum edition available only to guests.
A whisky club selecting a cask together and putting every member's name on the presentation box.
A retailer releasing an exclusive 100-bottle single cask unavailable from any competitor.
A company giving its 25 most important clients an aged spirit carrying a bespoke label telling the company's own story.
Or simply five friends deciding that instead of buying another rare bottle, they want to create one.
That's what makes small-batch bespoke bottling interesting.
Exclusivity doesn't have to mean enormous scale.
Sometimes exclusivity means there are only 20 bottles in existence.

More Than Whisky and Rum
Although whisky and rum remain central to what we do, our experience extends further.
Precious Liquors has worked with Cognac, Armagnac, Japanese whisky and other aged spirits, while our broader business has spent more than a decade sourcing, brokering and trading rare bottles and casks internationally.
This gives bespoke clients another advantage:
we don't need to begin with a predetermined liquid.
We can begin with the idea.
Then search for the spirit capable of bringing it to life.
Want to Create Your Own Whisky or Rum?
Whether you need 20 bottles or several hundred, we are happy to discuss the idea.
You don't need to know the distillery.
You don't need to understand bottling logistics.
And you certainly don't need to arrive with a finished label.
Tell us the occasion, approximate quantity, market, budget and what you would like the bottle to represent.
We'll take it from there.
From a tiny private edition shared between friends to a commercial single-cask release distributed internationally, Precious Liquors can help transform an idea into a bottle that exists nowhere else in the world.
